You are invited to our summer intern final runway show

We have been working with a trio of bright young talents for the summer, further refining our educational framework to train fashion design students using virtual worlds as low-cost, low-risk environments for prototyping and expressing their designs.

On Tuesday, August 25th at 9 pm Eastern, we will be showcasing their work in a virtual runway show held in our regions in Second Life on our Shengri La estate. This runway show is both a group project, where they worked together to create the concept, define the run order, and specify outfits that worked collectively; and also as their final research seminar, complete with the apparel industry's version of the poster session, namely the visual story for their portfolio.

The interns have all completed their individual visual stories, which will be displayed both during and after the runway show, and which follow accepted practices in the industry. We will also be showing, on live models, selected outfits drawn from the collections they have completed this summer.
