Looking for articles written in journals for teachers about games learning and society

I'm putting together a course pack of papers for pre-service primary junior (K-5) teachers about science and technology learning. I want to include a reading on learning science and technology through games and virtual worlds. The article needs to be written for teachers rather than for researchers. I have looked in all the usual journals such as the NSTA journals Science and Children, Science Scope, The Science Teacher and the technology journals such as Technology and Children and there is nothing there. This has made me wonder whether there are articles written about the topic that are published in these kinds of journals for teachers? If anyone has recommendations or advice on where to look it would be much appreciated.

I know a few librarians have written some excellent overviews - hopefully they will see this and respond. I will post the chapter I wrote for the Ecology of Games volume of the MacArthur Series of Digital Media and Learning, should it prove useful.

Here is an article that appeared in the May 2008 issue of American Libraries magazine.

Thanks Brian,
this is a really useful article. I just got a note today that the NSTA (National Science Teachers Association) put out a position paper on e-learning - I haven't checked it yet but I'm interested to see what it says about games and virtual worlds,
Carol
