What locations in Second Life do you recommend most often? What are the "must-visit" sites for educators?

I have developed an interactive display panel to distribute information (on demand) to SL rezidents, and am now developing a set of images and notecards for use by Mentors in Second Life.

Another version of this object could contain images and notecards targeting locations of interest to educators, especially those who are new to SL. If successful, this object will be made available on XstreetSL, either for zero Lindens or for a small amount to be donated to the ICT Library.

Preference will be given to locations that provide resources to educators, as opposed to noteworthy builds. Please be as specific as you can about the SL location, including a SLURL where possible.

Forgot to say that I also like Cafe 101!
Thank you, Sabine and Emilia. I am glad I posted this request, because most of these are new to me. Here's my chance to get out more often.
I'd love to see this shen you get it together!
Howdy Laura! I would enjoy a chance to demonstrate this object for you, if you would like to see it; of course, I would also have to pass you a free copy so that you could test it for yourself...

Have you found any location in SL to be particularly helpful for you as an educator?
Sure, love to. I'm pretty new and just learning. Love all the gadgets, better than James Bond stuff. Does that make you Q? Can you look for me as Ygraine Caerndow?

I haven't found any great sites. My class all went on a field trip last night and everyone complained that the places were boring with nothing to do. CLass here refers to Ed531 at Boise State, if I didn't already mention that. Of course, what makes a great site really depends on what you plan to DO there...
Hey there Azwaldo! Great idea-great work! Would love one of the display panels placed at the Educator's Coffee House, my land on ISTE Island 2. What do you think?
Howdy Peggy. I suspect that the Educator's Coffee House (ECH) would be an excellent place to make this tool available.

I am still trying to develop—what seems to be—an appreciable set of content for the panel. Do you think that the ECH would be a suitable location to include in the content of the panel itself? If so, is there an ECH notecard (with a description of the space, along with a landmark) that could be used with the panel? Are there any images of ECH available? (Images I could produce; but, would prefer that notecards come from the content creators themselves.)

I will pass a copy of the prototype to you in world. I hope you can find a moment or three to give it a test-drive, I would be glad to hear any feedback.
The new 'Museum of Philosophy' in Second Life
at: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Sinfully%20Unknown/108/226/257

A theme, a Canadian university to add content, original machinima about philosophers underway, aiming to explore how SL media can be used in student education and in the popular promotion of philosophy's insights. And lots of art on display.
: : : ANNOUNCEMENT : : :
Work is completed on the iDP Voyager (an "interactive Display Panel") which is described here. The release version has been stuffed full of content (images of locations with accompanying notecards) introducing your audience to the following locations: Cafe 101, Edusquare at jokaydia, ICT Library, International Schools Island, ISTE, SciLands, Teacher Networking Center. (Thank you to all who suggested locations!)

: : : AVAILABILITY AND SPECIAL INTRODUCTORY OFFER : : :
A copy of the iDP-Voyager is available on XstreetSL at this URL.

For a limited time, any user who wishes a FULL PERM COPY of the object need only show Azwaldo Villota a copy of the object with a new content set (even if only two or three notecards). Full perms would let you see the script, should you see a chance to improve on the design.

PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE OF THIS OBJECT WILL BENEFIT THE ICT LIBRARY

: : : DISCLAIMER : : :
The manufacturer makes no claims to greater ease than simply DRAGGING TEXTURES/SNAPSHOTS ONTO A PRIM. Results depend on the regular care and feeding of this object. Your mileage may vary.
Many thanks to Daniel Voyager who provided extensive testing of the object.
