Hi Folks,

Sorry for being so quite the last little while. Things have been busy. At this point we have about 75 presentations, panels, tutorials, and games that have been submitted and are just in the process of getting back to people. The Social committe has some incredible things they are working on and it looks as if we are going to have a whale of an event. There are almost 100 pre-registrations so far and we are barely into 5-6 days since the registration page went up. If the same ratios hold as in 2007 then for every registration we get we are expecting about 4.5 attendees to actually show.

Registration is at http://vwbpe09.eventbrite.com/

We are have an exhibitor / poster area available for those that would like space to advertize their non-profit related items (http://www.vwbpe.org/call-for-posters-exhibits). Vendor spaces are also available.

We also just managed to get firm pricing on real-time broadcasting and professionally edited machinima of presentations. This is being done on a best efforts basis depending on the amount of sponsortships we manage to raise - See http://www.vwbpe.org/sponsorship for more details

Thanks,
K/PC

Meeting Minutes from the VW-BPE09 Organizational Committee are published here. We are moving the organizational committee stuff into google groups as it was the collective decision of the committee that rezed.org should be used more for general communication on the conference rather than as the organizing vehicle.

For those interested in volunteering, please see the discussion forum posting above. The google group is located at

http://groups.google.com/group/vwbpe

or ask for an invite and I can get you added to the group.

We'll be posting more general communications here as more information becomes available.

I'm interested in helping but I think planning for something further in advance is more feasible. Is it possible to schedule this later?

Hi Doug - would be great to have you on board. I'm just doing a couple of initial set-ups to a new website specifically for the conference. The URL is currently http://www.slpbe.org/. I will be having information go out to everyone on either Tuesday or Wednesday to get everything rolling. It doesn't look as if we have any major problems with the March 27-29th dates as most areas of Canada / US etc. have completed their "spring breaks" by that point. So more information is on the way.

Hi Phelan,

I'd love to help with your "proposal selection and presentation schedule" group. Had a little experience organizing a conference in RL.
