I attended Jakie's inworld presentation at Infolit iSchool last month. I really think Jackie's research should be quoted or shown to higher education adminstrators who have doubts about how our future students learn. At the talk, I think I remember her saying that it would be 6 years for us to start having Club Penguin alumni.

Unrelated to the above comment, Jackie's research on rough and tumble play I see in MMORPGs, but this kind of even friendly contact seems to be missing in SL. Is it because we are all acting like adults? I was discussing with a student who was going into SL for the first time, but is a MMORPG gamers. I told him that SL is more polite that the game he normally plays. Does anyone else find SL much more polite that the RPG they play?
