About Me:: I am an art historian at the Fashion Institute of Technology and responsible for introducing faculty to Second Life - for our graduate students, and our students in the schools of Business and Technology & Art and Design. I'm very interested in the art that is being created in Second Life and have started a series of blog posts about art in SL. I am also a member of NPIRL (Not Possible in Real Life).

It's always a challenge when you try to introduce something. Not only are you dealing with the novelty but you're often dealing with misperceptions and prejudices as well. Still, there's so much in the artistry of SL that you might have some leeway with the truly creative. (NPIRL sounds neat so thanks for that!)

I am just another soul trying to build a network here. I work for the College Center for Library Automation in Florida. We provide for our 28 Community Colleges access to research databases, a unified library catalog and a library management system. We have had a presence in Second Life for about 18 months and provide access to many of those services from within the virtual world.
