Dear Steve,

Yes, we are--or I should say, will be by late January. We run about 100 Moodle-based hybrid online classes across the state a year, and have a hard time kicking the kids off when the class ends! So, two of our intrepid staff are building "The Village"--a social networking site for bright Wisconsin kids in grades 6-12. You can see the home page for it through www.wcaty.org or worlds.wcatyweb.com/village. The virtual world is a new one for me and I'd welcome colleagues and support!

It is amazing how the barcamp format facilitates sharing across all disciplines. And now I found out it is possible to stream a video into Second Life using a free account through Veodia.com so if you held a barcamp you could also look into using this option to stream a live feed of the barcamp to a Second Life site - pretty cool!

Welcome to Social Presence in Virtual Worlds. I can' t wait to hear what you can share with us. Also, I am opening a Center for Social Presence soon. This will be a great place to bring colleagues to learn how to use gestures more efficiently.
